1956 Harley-Davidson 125 Hummer

The 1956 Harley-Davidson Hummer 125 was a lightweight, two-stroke single-cylinder motorcycle aimed at new riders and budget-conscious buyers. Based on the earlier DKW design brought over after World War II, the Hummer featured a 125cc engine, rigid frame, minimal styling, and a simple, rugged design. It had no battery or electric system—just magneto ignition and basic lighting—making it extremely simple and easy to maintain. Weighing under 200 pounds, the Hummer was ideal for city riding and back roads. Though not powerful, it played a key role in attracting younger riders to Harley-Davidson and remains a quirky, beloved part of the brand’s history.
